Anna turns 30!!

So today, November 3rd, is Anna's 30th
birthday! What better place to spend it than the gorgeous snow
covered mountains of Colorado. We opened up some birthday
presents and then headed off to check out Telluride and then blast our
way down to Mesa Verde National Park. What a drive. The
views were even better than yesterdays and the mountains out here are
unbelievable. The ones closer to Telluride were rockier than
those near Denver and looked more like something out of the Swiss Alps
than something out of the US.

It really is amazing out here, and strangely, we
feel like we're the only folks on the road. I guess we timed it
well by coming out after the summer/fall tourist craze and just before
ski season kicks into high gear. As we approached the "high
desert" of southern Colorado the scenery changed drastically and looked
more like the southwest... still beautiful nonetheless. Had a
little dinner at a very authentic Mexican restaurant and popped a
bottle of Anna's favorite - a '96 "Perrier Jouet Fleur de
Champagne". Tasty stuff indeed... those Frenchies know their
booze. |
