After a long day of driving in Nevada we finally got to Anna's mom's place in Chico.  Chico is a pretty cool college town... reasonable to live in and quite a lot to do.  Anna's mom wasn't back from Napa yet so we got some Sierra Nevada, hung out and watched Napoleon Dynamite until she got home... whereupon we had quite a nice meal and some good conversation.  It was my first time meeting her mom and I'd say it went pretty well... I didn't even break or spill anything.
The next day Anna's Uncle Bill (aka Skip) treated us to a little fishing experiment on the Sacramento River.  We were "skunked" and didn't catch anything... or was it that "we just got started"?  I can't keep the lingo straight.  We did see some crazy wildlife and a couple of big fish on the radar .  And at least we didn't get arrested by any of the rangers that motored past us.
