So Anna and I just got back from the supermarket and found this little bugger in the garage, hanging on a web over the car.  She said it was a black widow... the largest one she'd ever seen so I was naturally curious.  It's not that I didn't believe her, it's just that I'd never seen one.  And I didn't think they got this big so I figured I'd try and catch it to get a better look at it.

Anyway, I found a metal bar I could reach it with, climbed up on a ladder, and pulled it off.  The thing gave me the willies because it started coming down it's web at me, but I managed to avoid it's potentially venemous biting jaws of death.

I bet you all recognize these markings, don't you?  That's right folks, Anna was correct... it really was our old friend the black widow.  It was honestly pretty huge - with her legs all spread out she was about 2-2.5 inches in diameter!!  Well, that was before I accidentally squished it.  They say poison from these buggers isn't often fatal but it makes your abdomen spaz and is terribly painful.  I put it in a little ziplock baggie and sent it to Johnny cuz I know how he likes spiders and snakes and stuff.
