Since
we were on the west coast we had to take a 'quick shot' up to
Washington to visit my cousin Mark. He's been on the west coast
(with a brief stint in colorado) for all of my adult life and I've
never visited, so now was the time. We drove from Chico, CA to
Olympia, WA in one day and it was a longer and more tiring drive than I
thought. I suppose it's like driving to DC from Boston.
Whatever, we made it in decent time and along the way I saw my first
herd of wild elk. I couldn't get too close as there was a river
in the middle but there were a bunch of them. From what we could
see there were two males in the group, but they're unfortunately not in
this picture.

 | So
Mark and his friend Scott live in Olympia with their two awesome dogs,
Miha and Henry. Miha is Marks little pup shown in the
photo. Henry is a miniature version of "Duke", my parent's
horse-sized coon hound and the two of em have fantastic
dispositions. Oh, and that's Mark's leg in the picture, but you
can't really see it cuz it's camoflauged with tattoo ink.
We checked out seattle too and went up the space needle, did the
touristy tour of Pike Market (and that crazy fish store), and got to
see the "Bodies" exhibit where they have all the plasticized chinese prisoners. Fascinating stuff actually.

So if you hadn't guessed,
my cousin is into tattoos and he's the most talented tattoo artist I
have ever seen... and boy have I seen a bunch. I suppose I'm
not an impartial party, him being my cousin and all, but I had no idea the
kid was so creative and sought after. If you ever need a tattoo
and are in the Olympia area, give Mark a call over at Tiki
Tattoos. Here's a good shot of him in action... just look at the
concentration. On him, not me. Care to guess what he
tattooed on my neck? It didn't hurt a bit, as far as you know.
