PLAYA DEL CARMEN - Well, we took the ferry back to Cancun and caught a bus from there to Playa del Carmen.  It should be called Playa del Carmerica cuz what once was a small fishing village is now South Beach Part Deux.  Me no likey.  I´m sure the beaches are nice but you might as well go to the cape, and if you do that you won´t get anybody bugging you to eat at their restaurant.

Anyway, we came here for the diving and unfortunately the weather has been so crap that the boats aren´t going out.  We could wait around for a few more days but then we´d probably shoot ourselves in the necks (and spend a crapload of money) so we´re going to take off and head south to see some Mayan ruins.  The busses are so nice, easy and inexpensive that we figure we´ll just come back when the weather is nice.  The states could a little bit from these guys down here... we´ve been cruising around in almost new Mercedes busses with movies, air conditioning and very nice reclining chairs.

PS, what used to be a donkey and a cart is now a mercedes bus
